KARA Sells 1 Million Albums in Japan
After less than a year since their debut in Japan, KARA has recorded sales of over 1 million copies of their releases in total.
It was recently announced by KARA’s Japanese agency, Universal Music Japan, that the Korean girl group has sold over 1 million copies of their albums in Japan thus far.
Collectively, the sales of their debut single “Mister”, “Jumping,” “Girls’ Talk”, “KARA BEST 2007-2010”, and their DVD “KARA BEST CLIPS” exceeded sales of 1 million within the past week – roughly, 1,080,000 units sold in total.
This is an impressive feat, as KARA had only debuted in Japan eight months prior, gaining a great deal of attention in a very short period of time in an industry that is notoriously difficult to break into at all, much less with such rampant success. KARA’s “butt dance” from their debut track “Mister” took the nation by storm, and their second release “Jumping” did not disappoint.
The physical release of KARA’s 3rd Japanese single “Jet Coaster Love” will be available for purchase beginning on April 6th, and all proceeds will be donated to the Japanese disaster relief fund.
