MBLAQ’s Lee Joon and T-ara’s Ji Yeon Dubbing ‘Gnomeo & Juliet’

MBLAQ's Lee Joon and T-ara's Ji Yeon Dubbing 'Gnomeo & Juliet'

MBLAQ’s Lee Joon and T-ara’s Ji Yeon were announced to lend their voices to characters of the animation film, ‘Gnomeo & Juliet’, along with comedian, Jung Juri.

As the title already says, the animation film ‘Gnomeo & Juliet’ alludes to Shakespeare’s classic, ‘Romeo & Juliet’. The movie tells the love story of two gnomes, Gnomeo and Juliet, who are from families that hate each other.

The main characters are dubbed by the members, Lee Joon and Ji Yeon, of the idol groups, MBLAQ and T-ara. Comedian, Jung Juri, joined them, lending her voice to the character of Nanette, the frog.

This is the first time for Lee Joon and Ji Yeon to dub. When they were asked about how they feel about it at the press conference on April 4th, Ji Yeon expressed, “I was thrilled to have had the chance to challenge myself. I was a bit nervous at first, but dubbing has its charms. Voice acting is still acting, and I tried my best to do well.”

“It’s impossible to point out which one is “more” difficult. They’re both challenging and demanding. In acting, you’re able to use both facial expressions and voice intonations. Voice acting is a bit more challenging because you have to express all your emotions into your voice”, Lee Joon answered, when reporters asked which is more difficult, singing or acting.

For the English version of ‘Gnomeo & Juliet’, James McAvoy and Emily Blunt teamed up to voice the characters of Gnomeo and Juliet.
